Anglo-Saxons, Britons, and the Celts

This is a modest unit expansion for the Celtic factions (Irish, Picts, Welsh) as well as the Anglo Saxon kingdoms (Kent, Mercia, Northumberland, and Wessex). It is intended to compliment the Age of Britannia mod and fleshes out those factions unlocked by that mod. I've also taken the liberty to reskin a few other units and change the faction colors to something less hideous (no more purple Ulstermen).

This mod introduces several new units for the various cultures, they are:

Geoguth - Javelinmen that double for lightly armed swordsmen in a pinch

Huscarles - An upgrade to the Royal Companions of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms

Theog Cavalry - A light Jinete style cavalry

Cantrefs - Light swords men with javelin precursors

Kern Slingers - they're slingers...

Kerns - New kern unit (old one renamed Kern Javelinmen) more heavily armed than it's cheaper counterpart and fires darts at a rapid rate

Gallowglasses - Mean Dane axe swinging norsemen

Pictish Pikemen - They've got long sticks and little armor

Cateran Spearmen - Not much armor but a mean charge for a spear unit

Pictish Fanatics - Woad is back in vogue baby!


This mod is not intended to be 100% historical, however i've done my best to represent these units as authentically as possible with the resources i found. Obviously i took some liberties with some of them being slightly out of the scope of the game, but it's all for fun after all.

Let me know if there are any balance issues with these new units i need to address. I intend to update this mod with more reskins and perhaps some more new units if i can see a reason to add them.




*It should be noted that all this mods new units upkeep are balanced with Mazz's Upkeep mod. If you play without that these new units will seem quite a bit cheaper than the vanilla ones.
