R990 CQCS Mod.0 Shotgun

This shotgun is another pure american design, built by Remington, and chambered to fire 12ga shells. It is the weapon of choice for the law enforcement and has seen limited use in the military, particularly in spaceship crews. It has a peculiar design: the first shell is loaded by a small port on the side of the weapon and all the others are loaded normally, but are stored perpendicular to the barrel: they are rotated to enter the chamber. The real version holds 16 shells, but for game limitations it only has 4, maybe you prefer to not load all the shells ;) . It uses a semiautomatic mechanism: it has both a recoil operated system and a gas system. The recoil is used to rotate the shell and the gasses are used to eject the spent one and chamber the rotated one. This overly complicated mechanism is very efficient, because the rifle is sealed, apart from a little zone in the chamber, so it doesn't have much jamming problems, and it was designed to be used in urban sceanrios, not deserts or swamps. CQCS means Close Quarters Combat System.
