The Simple guide to - Publishing a Scenario
由 simonmd 制作
Created a scenario and want to share it? It's very easy to add a scenario to the Steam Workshop and everyone added helps make the community more interesting, here's how.

Step 1
From the 'Build' menu, select the 'Publish' tab, then select the scenario you want to publish from the list. Note, it's alphabetical so remember what you named it! You can now also add a screenshot to help identify your scenario to other people, this will be taken from the screenshot folder ON YOUR PC, not from ones you've already uploaded to Steam.

Important tip: For some reason, Train Sim' only recognises the first 50 pictures in the screenshot folder so if you've not sorted it out for a while and have taken a few previously, you won't be able to find any you've taken recently. The simple solution to this assuming you want to keep copies of your screenshots on your PC, is to create another folder and get into the habit of moving older pics into it from time to time so the total number of pics in the main folder is less than 50.

Once you've found it, fill in the description in the grey box on the bottom left (this is the text that will actually appear on the workshop page) then select the appropriate labels from the drop down menus on the bottom right.
Step 2
Once you have done the above, click the tickbox to say you agree with the conditions and click 'Publish', if all checks out ok, you will see this screen as it uploads,

Follwed by the Steam dashboard opening with conformation your scenario has now been published, it's that easy!

Should you want to edit the description further or add any more screenshots, you can easily do so from the workshop page itself.

It should be noted that sometimes Steam has server issues or other issues and you scenario won't be available right away. The scenario will appear to have been download, as it will appear in the list of them in your Workshop page, however the 'Drive' button won't work and it won't show in the game's listings. Nothing you can do other than be patient and wait for it to fix itself it seems.

Does anyone know how the star rating system works? I noticed some scenarios have a star rating. The scenario I published recently does not have enough ratings to get a star - how do users give a rating and how many ratings do you need to get a star? Is it just the thumbs up system or is there something else?

Ah..it is indeed, didn't knew that time table can't be published. Thanks

If your scenario doesn't turn up make sure its not timetable mode. If it is change to standard. Matt has a tutorial that shows you how to fix it.

I can't see my created scenario in the list at step 1. Is there a specific reason for that?

On my Ts game, for some reason there are like 7 scenarios which are detected even though I have 7 routes and I because of that I can't publish any of my scenarios or even the ones that came with the routes

Sounds easy, but mine refuses to publish :steamfacepalm:
Why then does Steam want us to upload a description HTML file?

What if you do all this and get to the end, but then Train Sim says "Failed to Publish File"?

FYI: in order to publish scenario, route must be public and final. It took some time to figure it out :)
