The Gargoyle LAIS was developed alongside the LAAC by a separate design team from PFS. The two competed for a time, until it was decided that both designs were useful, and would be utilized. While the LAAC's versatile hardpoints allowed it to fit into most combat support roles, the LAIS was given a permanent armament of gatling guns to compliment its excellent hovering capability and lay down heavy fire support onto anti-infantry threats.

FLIGHT DYNAMICS

The gunship was built and tested within a Martian Atmosphere, therefore, in theory, it should work better in thicker atmospheres, and is more responsive in lower gravity.

For night flying, there are 3 lights. The forward-most spotlight can be pointed down for landing, or up to assist with flying. I have also included a proximity warning system, that will sound an alarm whenever you are within 5m of the ground. You can use the sensor to adjust these parameters, or turn off the sound block from the pilot's seat if you wish to fly low without being annoyed.

Unlike the LAAC, the LAIS has a major focus on downward thrust. There is little to propel you forwards. Therefore, the Gunship should be flown very similarly to a helicopter. Point forward to accelerate, pull up to slow down, bank hard to make a sharp turn.
