The Wraith Raider is one of Hyperion Systems most controversial designs. Whilst the vast majority of designs can be justified as necessary for CEU defense, the Wraith can only have been designed for one purpose; the destruction of unarmed vessels and stations. An offshoot of the Ghoul design, the Wraith uses a similar kinetic torpedo system, however, unlike the Ghouls PD resistant inert steel payload, the Wraith's torpedoes are highly explosive bombs. Whilst vulnerable against PD, these explosive devices can cause catastrophic damage to lightly armed cargo ships and mining operations. Obviously the nature of this craft has made it's inclusion in the CEU Navy politically difficult, but despite it's rarity in the Military, the Wraith remains popular in the Civilian market, primarily amongst Pirate gangs looking to intimidate and extort lightly armed vessels.
