Thanks. I kinda stumbled on how to do it myself. When creating a vehicle assest you have to load one of the default vehicle templates supplied like Sedan, Sports-car, SUV, etc... In the properties box you will now have a lights option. From here you can select the position of your lights.

Very nice, how did you get the headlight "cones" working? I'm trying to fix my own mods for nighttime too.
