Second, would it be possible for the character to become disabled when it has been picked once, regardless of if the character is still in the server? (that may be enough for certain worlds with friends, also char ideally could become available again if the player with that character changes character in-game i.e. uses portal, or via admin command idk )
As for more general, in your question, i guess i would kick the person who chose the character last, that would not be practical always, but generally there`s a discussion when new players join of which characters are available. And so, a player that picks a character that`s not available (even thou there's none in the world at the moment), would be kicked upon return of previous player.
this maybe a huge stretch, but would be awesome for the player who chose a repeated character to drop all itens and despawn when a player that had that character already returns to game.

it's possible in theory by kicking doubled character.
But the the mechanic is not clear even in theory. What if I chose the charater and left the server? Then another person toke the same chatacter, and then I came back. Whom to kick?
To explain , what i want is to disable every character once there`s already one of them in the server, or even in the world possibly
Would be great to have a way to make it so there`s more diverse characters and not multiple wendys woodies and the likes
