The Adventures of Paul Raymer, Microengineer Episode 1: Getting The Box Rolling

You have finally arrived on Earth! But it turns out being isolated from Earthly pathogens in space is not good for ones immune system, including aliens. Half the Resistance is out of commission with a nasty cold, and as luck would have it that includes all of the few who knew how to make the factory parts that you use to make things that aren't factory parts. Running out of factory supplies and desperate to deliver the advanced technology promised to Earth's governments in exchange for their assistance defeating the Overlords, Salvitros has given the, er, less conventional thinkers access to as much power and blocks as they want so that they might find a way to replenish the Resistance's supply of factory blocks.

Your name is Paul Raymer, and your work on Planck-distorting graviton lenses was just theoretical until you finally got a good look at Schmidt's experiments with the skip drives--not only was your work right, but you now had access to the technology to generate negative energy in sufficient quantities to realize it! Unfortunately, the required power was exorbitant, and all the Resistance's resources were devoting to making sure you all didn't die. But now, you have the power of an entire space station at your command! Grabbing as many entropy stabilizer tubes as you could find, you made your way to your old barracks room; you know the electrical systems there inside and out.

It's time to see what your shrink ray can do.

Well, shrink lense, but "shrink ray" sounds so much cooler.

Fantastic puzzle. The concept and description are pretty cool, and the map layout itself is creative as hell. Not particularly hard, but overall pretty refreshing. Great work!
