I'm uploading this as a suggestion for new tech. It can still be armed as if a ship although I would suggest short ranged cannon for attacking damage, no engines or armour and moved only with a minelayer as a suggestion.

This reminds me of the minefield in the GalaxyQuest movie, though that was nebula-sized. Something of that scale would be incredible.

Thats why I uploaded, I have been a hinting..lol As for Mod, no. I only use what the game has to offer and allow.

so you plan to mod this ?, somewhere in the future, i presume. Also its kind of neat to have minefields, around your planets and bases, it might be a good idea to suggest it as a future idea for stardock :) (at least in my opinion)
