SA80 is the english name , and L85A2 is the H&K modified version . How to explain exactly ;
when Enfield designed the EM-2 , they thought it was a great idea, and they created the SA80 , in 1980 . Then , they developed it and created the L85A1 . But the L85A1 was one of the baddest assault rifles ever created : mag release button was very easily knocked by accidents , plastic pieces were falling down (imagine , your handguard breaks when you fire !) , magazine springs were so weak than only 26-28 rounds were shooted (same problems happened on Sten MK.II) , then H&K led the project , and designed the L85A2 , a very good assault rifle ;D .
In fact, SA-80 is more a weapon family than a weapon . Or you can call it SA-80 A2 , or H&K L85A2 , anyways the name doesn't matter , your skin is so awesome !
