Age of Bronze: Qadesh [CUSTOM BATTLE PREVIEW]

描述
IMPORTANT - READ THIS FIRST!

Due to restrictions on file sizes for Steam Workshop content, we are unable to host all of the Qadesh preview files on the Workshop. As the preview is over 200mb in size we have split it into two pack files (one each for database information and content), and you will have to download and install the content file separately (see the ‘Installation’ header below) in order to properly experience the preview.

Alternatively, you can download and install the entire preview as a single file from our forum thread at Total War Center.[www.twcenter.net]

Introduction

Over a millennium before the Roman Republic warred with Carthage, the deserts of Syria played host to the first great battle between ancient superpowers. Near the city of Qadesh, the New Kingdom of Egypt under Ramesses II clashed with the mighty Hittite Empire of Muwatalli II. Along with tens of thousands of combatants, Qadesh was the largest chariot battle in history, with each side bringing at least 2000 chariots to bear. Though the battle was strategically inconclusive it was an important milestone in the history of warfare, and thus is a fitting theme for the first playable release of Age of Bronze.

After over two years of work, the Age of Bronze team is hugely proud to present the project's very first playable preview! This preview, themed around the legendary Battle of Qadesh, introduces our first two playable factions – The Egyptian Kingdom and the Hittite Empire, and the huge amount of new units and content that we have produced to bring them into Total War: Rome II with the quality that they deserve.

Please note that this is an early preview for Age of Bronze, and we are a very long way away from the finished product. This is also the first release of this preview, as such there is some content yet to be added and many rough edges yet to be smoothed out. We are very much open to feedback and suggestions, which can be left (along with any bug reports) on our forum over at Total War Center.[www.twcenter.net]

Over time we will be bringing more and more of the Bronze Age world to Rome II, and we hope that this preview gives a good taster of things to come.

Features

- Two playable factions; The Egyptian Kingdom (Egypt) and The Hittites (Hatti), available in custom battle mode.
- Over 30 completely new units.
- A huge amount of new content created exclusively for Age of Bronze including meshes, textures, unit cards, and faction icons.
- Huge unit sizes.
- Fully compatible with the Patch 17 beta.

Note that none of the campaigns, historical battles, or factions besides Egypt and Hatti are playable at this time.

Installation

1. Subscribe to and install this section of the mod.

2. Download the model [188.166.42.186] section of the preview.

3. Extract the .pack file to Rome II’s data folder, which can be found at the following directory:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\common\Total War Rome II\data .

This directory may be different depending on your system configuration, e.g. if you have installed Rome II on a second hard drive, or if you are running a 32-bit system. If you are having problems with installation then please leave a comment below.

4. Launch Rome II and enable both Qadesh Preview files in the mod management section of the game launcher. We would strongly recommend disabling all other mods at this time, though certain graphical enhancement mods may run alongside the Qadesh Preview with no issues.

5. Run the game!

Known Issues

- At this time there are a few custom unit cards missing, these will be added in the near future.
- No unit descriptions have been written for the new units, though we plan to add these soon.
- The Hittite faction (Hatti) may be unplayable if you do not have the Caesar in Gaul DLC installed, due to the faction being based on the Galatian faction from the Vanilla game. This may be able to be fixed by installing an All Factions Playable mod from the Workshop, though we will try and fix this at a future date.

For any bug reports and other feedback please visit our forum.[www.twcenter.net]

@Ruuki The faction of Mesopotamia isn't a faction, a common misconception in the history books. Mesopotamia is the Latin word for "land between the rivers". Mesopotamia was the area between the Tigris–Euphrates rivers and were home to many different civilisations including the Sumerian, Assyrian, Akkadian, and Babylonian "faction's". In fact it will be interesting to see what the start date will be in the mod, because factions were assimilated by others for certain periods of time, each having a chance to peak in power before falling into a dark age or getting wiped out entirely.

Which other factions are planned to be included in future versions of this mod? Great job done already though :)

I am curious, where is Babylon? They were a major player on the world stage at this time and, although they did not take part in the wars between egypt and the hittites, they made a huge impact on the world.
