"Stranger, do you possess the strength to defeat my master?"


Skeletron, the cursed guardian of the dungeon, as a poseable ragdoll/model from the game Terraria.

Due to an overwhelming response from the GMod community, I pushed back some other stuff I was working on and went ahead and made another Terraria boss. I decided to do Skeletron, as he is one of the more iconic bosses. He was also the next step up in difficulty, featuring a far more complex rig and ragdoll.

Just some quick notes about his rig. If you decide to use his head or full body, remember to pick him up by the BACK of his head. His jawbone is ragdolled, and I found myself picking him up by the jaw more often than not, and then being confused as to why I couldn't move him around.

He also derives a rig based on the Engineer, so his fingers will support the Finger Poser.

Finally, you can kill people with his arms. While I was swinging them around to test their joints, I accidentally slapped myself to death.


Version 2

I decided it was time to revisit and fix up Skeletron before moving forward with a new boss. Just like with the Eye of Cthulhu, there were a lot of careless mistakes in the first verison that needed to be cleaned up and reworked. For the most part, Skeletron wasn't nearly as bad off as the others, but his texture was severely lacking. Hence the reason he looked really plastic in GMod. I also added some extra LODs and such to improve performance.

In order to preserve backwards compatibility due to the rig changes, I've include the old version of Skeletron in with Version 2. This way, you can have the new one, and the old saves/dupes won't be broken by missing files. Other than that, there really isn't much different between versions.


Notes

-For some reason, he crashes the Dungeon Foyer map when spawned as a full rig. I don't know why this is. His head and arms still seem to work. Ironic that he crashes the one map that was made for him.
