You had a bunch of spare parts lying around, and thought that you would make something cool that reminded you of home, and maybe help with some heavy lifting later. You let the idea slip to some of the newbies, so of course they all (all the human ones, anyway) wanted one, and you roped them into doing the boring, er, easy parts. Now you can put them all together at once with a flourish! True, the space you're allowed to use for personal projects is a little small, but you'll manage. You are the best after all.

I got 256/506/237 on -2 input rate. The relatively close quarters and the target's various irregular protrusions forced me to do all sorts of absurd acrobatics, and this turned into one of my coolest factories ever; I'm quite pleased with myself for solving my own puzzle.
