The imperium is a modded faction based around the concept of "If you want firepower, just mount more gunz!"

The origins of the machine that is the Imperium have been lost. Since a long time. A really really long time. Like 35000 years. Or was if 40000? Anyway, the Imperium is a mighty warmachine, who's true purpose was lost. The only thing that the machine know, is that it must worship the golden statue that is the Emprah, and kill it's enemies. And because the Emprah don't talk much, that the machine always ask: "Must I not destroy them?", and that the machine take silence as a no, the machine pretty much attack everything that move!

Because I'm tired of everyone asking (even through I answered that question already and it is in the F***ing tutorial).
How to unlock the faction:
Like EVERY SINGLE OTHER BASE FACTION! By killing a 1000P+ ship of the faction in their territory! They only spawn in galaxies generated AFTER you have dll this mod.

Storm and Purge are fixed facing weapons

The imperium is in the MOAR DAKKA phylosophy, and the I'M FAR AWAY one too. It's the laser strong point. Laser at close range tend to be useless cause of their turn rate.

When I play this race, it seems the allied ships have no Idle movement. They just sit there unless they are in your fleet or an enemy comes close.

Um I discovered a bug, maybe. The Storm and Purge bolt cannons seem to have 0 degree turning speeds. Unless this was mean't to be so on purpose, uh you might want to change it. THey are kinda useless given these ships need lots of thrusters just to turn fast making fixed weaponry ineffective.

If anything I'd say this mod is slightly underpowered. The ships have great defense from front to back but ships that can slip passed can eat into the commands so easily. Because there are mostly forward weapons, unless you have amazing drone counts or a fleet, you have to turn to face your agressor, which is extremely dangerous for so many reasons.

I like this faction but they could use an engine speed buff. The speed loss isn't worth the damage the endgame weapons put out. Also it's so rare that the lasers actually hit for full damage, so the damage values are somewhat wrong anyways.

With all that said, I'm a masochist so this gets 10/10. Definitely had to theorycraft a number of times to get the playstyle I wanted (faster ships!!!! :P)

I found this mod to be somewhat like a baby of ships;
They crawl around
Anything near them gets destroyed
Their crys that can be heard from a distance fade rather quickly
They're squishy
They can throw a tantrum and launch something but it usually misses

I made a faction that completely reks this one... they're not overpowered but because they are fast this faction can never put the damage down. Also anything with decent 'good against stationary targets' weapons completely owns this faction unless you have a fleet... and even then.

I just so happened to lose connectino last night and had to face my own fleets as agents with this mod and it was a nightmare.... my sentinel fleet fkd me sideways for a good half hour (nukes... nukes everywhere, not to mention melee and high speed).
