Apparently these 'old' worlds do not work with the current version of the game. There is nothing i can do to update it. Consider it dead.

Hi everyone,

This is my attempt at making some bridges and gates in Medieval Engineers. To cross waters or canyons leading to villages, settlements or castles.
Just something I made for fun. Thought I'd post them here to share, if you want to try them out, explore or destroy them. Feel free to change them how you like.

Structual integrity is enabled.


Five liftable bridges, all operable with one handle by one person
  • Double leaf bascule bridge, synchronous opening and closing from either side.

  • Single leaf bascule bridge, (drawbridge if you may) lowers a part of the deck down to act as a counterweight.

  • Vertical-lift bridge, lifts the entire span several meters up in the air.

  • Very large double leaf bascule bridge, very long span for wide rivers. (currently no synchronous action)

  • Swing bridge, moving mechanism using gears and a clutch, connecting a moving rotor to the span.

Two gates with locks and mechanisms
  • Double door gate with overhead lock.

  • Large and heavy interlocked double door gate with gear train and locks.

    (I've tried taking the doors down with a battering ram, it didn't work.. I would like to know about your attempts)


Mods used
Mods are automatically downloaded temporarily for worlds.

all really nice elegant designs. unfortunately i think ropes and counterweights dont quite work. also i think the 4 rope things which are similar to fan belts have been broken too.

@lacrymosabcw It is saved as a world. Click on "workshop" at the main menu and you should see it there. Click it and then click "copy and load" it will load and you can see and try the bridges. :-)

This suddenly hit the frontpage and became one of the most popular mods of the week.. Crazy!

These bridges and doors are from several builds ago. If something is not working as it should, leave a comment and I can give it a look and revise them accordingly.

Great Mechanics! Well done. I still hope we will get some thinner hinges and propper working doors, because with the given ones small doors just look too cluncky...
