PDS v11B8 for HW2Classic

描述
I was a huge fan of PDS mod for HW2. It's sad to see noone's moved to put it up on the Workshop, so here it is, my first update onto the workshop/interwebs for HW2.
The PDS community is still alive and there's a team getting together to get a remastered version up online. If anyone loves PDS, or wants to see the resurgence of a glorious tactical space sim,

Could you put up a description that actually tells us what the mod does beyond just being PDS? I'm not familiar with it.

https://www.pds.homeworldaccess.net/downloads/ex_ffront/v11/ heres a link to the mod v11b8full.zip is the full one at 140+mb (the one posted here looks to be the basic verion at 70+mb) then you would also or might need the v11b5update.zip 5+mb in case anyone wants the original files dont know if these need to be updated for the workshop or work as a mod (havent tested them personally) but they should...

well all in all it´s what the name implies... it add´s real PDS ( Point defense systems) to any and all ships... it increases the rate of fire for many weapons and also the speed of movement for most (turn and trust) so yeah...

it´s to much to wright so... best look for some videos on YT or so :P

I got one question that is hard to answer and that this mod should answer now that both their sites are FUBAR.
And that is... "What is PDS?"
"Why do I want PDS in my Homeworld install"

Because currently it just seems to be a legendary mod but no description as to what it changed / added exists anymore.

Is this version of PDS the newest or is Point Defense Systems v7.3.2 the newest version, I really cant tell

By running the original version of the game, not steam version, and using the version of the mod for it. Maybe they'll fix the bugs eventually, but for now, that's how I do it.

Wow, I'd almost forgotten about PDS, that mod kept me playing HW2 and active on the old relic forums for years. I even did some voice acting for it back in the 5.x days.....good times, good times.
