Siege of Rhodes

This is a short scenario in which it is your task to defend a stronghold. The history of this battle can be found below. This is the first scenario I publish so feedback is really appreciated. Hope you enjoy.



On the 26th of june 1522 the ottomans under command of Suleyman the magnificent laid siege for the second time to the Island of Rhodes. The Ottoman army consisted of 103 galleys, 120 000 soldiers (10 000 janissaries), 300 ships and a few thousand peasants used as workers. This island was the last crusader state in the eastern Mediteranean sea. Its conquest was capital for the Ottomans: The Order of saint John of Jeruzalem also known as the Hospitalier order has continually harassed the Turks. Also important to mention is that Rhodes lies on a strategic position and that its port is one of the oldest and best equipped in the whole Mediterranean. But the order is not to be underestimated! Rhodes is well defended by a double wall and canons. in 1480 The Turks were forced to retreat abandoning more than 5000 of their dead and wounded. The Hospitalier order will defend their lives costly...
