"Now the skylines reach my eyes... The ridge stands out in highland skies. I just can't believe I'm going home." - Going Home by Runrig of Scotland

Almost a new map! My first map has been completely reworked with
- Countless new areas to build, mountain outlooks, new lakes including one with a castle island
- Leveled terrain in large central areas
- Painted sunlight on terrain (using agriculture resource)
- Ä gorgeous little "national park" area full of wildlife, where you have stunning views of the fjord-like Highland Loch (was previously unreachable). It is nestled within tall moutains (a short tunnel is required), making a beautiful fjord look
- Two Hydro Dam capable tall lakes with fast ocean outflow for high power dams. One is built just for Hydro, the other is optional (because it will submerge the nice national park)
- Much more resources, ugly oil and ore hidden behind mountain ridges
- Perfected roads
- Landscapes better optimized for the game, yet keeps to the original idea of endless variety of scenes


See Images and Guides for even more goodies packed into this carefully remastered and revised version of my first map. There are some new little areas and overlooks I added since taking the terrain map photo... a little bit of adventure and discovery for you.

Note: I am now much better at roads! Thanks to go out to Kold. Riverbanks on both sides in the start area are completely level, making your first bridges nice and neat!.

PS - The start screen says this map has only 39% buldable area.... which is very misleading. All of the map *outside* of the game's area is mountain or sea, which is most likey why the number is so inaccurate. I have built a very large city on this map. Hope they fix that.

Hi john1982, not to worry, I still get the messages years after this came out. After this map was published the devs changed the lighting significantly. Everything became brighter and glaring. Try out Daylight Classic mod, which restores some sanity to the visuals. Then, in addition I recommend this LUT to bring it even closer to real colors https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1899882743

Just a heads up - this was one of my earliest maps, and back then we didn't have any mods to be able to make nice highways. In fact, highway segments did not even snap, so you'll see a lot of uneven, ugly stuff. It's so not me anymore :winter2019joyfultearssnowman:

Not sure if you'll be coming back to see the answer, sargenaldo, but just in case: what that is is a highway connection that you have to expand out to in order to use it. It's a "challenge" that I used to put into maps, but since that new error message was added in, I've stopped doing that.

ROFL on "Miyagi can now make roads!". One of my consolations in this game was that you were not really any better than me at roads. <sigh> :p

I love the look and feel of the map, great work. My problem is with my industry, it keeps telling me there is no outside connection. When I look at where the problem is, it is out side one of my purchased tiles. Anyone elese with this issue?
