I am a War of the Rebellion re-inactor, and historian. What you have heard and learned about this history is mostly half truths. The French have a saying, "A half truth is a whole lie." I am a first Sgt. of Company G. 6th Texas Vol. Inf. Granbury's Brig., Cleburne's Division, Hardee's Corps, of the Army of Tenn. and proud of it. The map looks somewhat to the historical events, but the two Yankee lines were a bit closer. The Carter House was a two story place and along the pike to town. Please don't leave that out. Eleven Southern Gentlemen and General officers were put on the back porch of that house and private Carter laid in his living room, all dieing for a free South.
