@Ave Warren; I think that's due to the way the graphic is constructed. I think the only feasible way to fix that would be to change the graphic, but I don't think doing that would be a good fit for this mod.
I know it can look a little weird, but I feel it's a matter of trading the aesthetic for the utility.
If I understand the way temperature works, the difference in warmth should be negligible with a radius of 1 or less, and nearly so at 2 (the smallest level of fire may take you a few more seconds to fully warm up.) It shouldn't effect how fast you stop freezing/overheating.
I don't see a way to change the warmth radius without completely overwriting the game's functions, and I don't think that would be a good fit for this mod.
The only other option is to simply increase the temperature function of the fire. I don't think that will actually help much, but I will try it out.
