描述
Midian: The Aegean Thunder.

Believed to have come from the Aegean Sea, the Midianites are a people that reside in what will someday be called "Saudi Arabia". They are led by Balaam, a diviner that attempted to curse Israel as they were being led by Moses, but wound up thwarted by God, and had to settle for mortal temptation of the Israel nation.
From their Aegean roots, they gain great might and speed at sea.

Leader- Balaam
UA- Aegean Thunder: Units move +2 while embarked, and settlers can do so immediately into the deepest of seas. Close-range ships are especially deadly to coastal cities.

UU- Swift Camel Cavalry: Replaces horseman. Can move 6 spaces instead of 4, does not require horses. Comes with Blitz promotion.

UB- Tent Shrine: Replaces Temple. Requires no upkeep, produces +2 production in addition to the normal +2 Faith.

TO DO- Bug Fix/Balance (Ongoing, upon subscriber reports)

Number 1 is the next on my list already, in fact. We are of the same mind. (I didnt know who I would choose as leader, I'll consider that)

Not currently! When I put in my new hard drive, it goofed up on the transfer and had to do a factory reset. Lost ALL my personal files. (Hold the lectures on backing up please)... So I have had a bit of a hard time getting back into it. Once I do, It will be glorious I assure you.

Aegean seafaring folk*

Thats a historical question, and I'm not a historian.

Also, modern historians just don't know the answer to what you're asking. Could they have? Yes indeed, you might be right on the money.

However, the current conclusion was reached due to the Mycenaean influence on Midianite pottery. This led George Mendenhall and a few other scholars to believe they were seafaring folk.

Well, could they not have roamed the deserts? Supposedly many nomadic tribes did, and I believe bedouins still do. And how did they get from the Mediterranean through Philistia and Amalek, and whatever Sinai tribes? Is there any evidence that they are indeed Aegean sea peoples?

They are indeed. You have to understand, there were centuries between Abraham and Balaam. Midian, son of Abraham, split off and started a nation of his own. No one knows for sure how, or where. It is majority belief, however, that they were one of the (Nine?) seafaring tribes of the Aegean. The people of Midian are nomads, through and through, prefering tents to walled cities.

Oh ♥♥♥♥, sorry, Speerit. You're right (about Balak/Bilam). And I have never heard that they came from the Aegean. Aren't they said to be descendants of Abraham?
