The Lydian Empire

This mod adds Lydia, led by Croesus!

Lydia was an Iron age kingdom that dominated western anatolia. Rising from the ashes of the Hittite empire, Lydia proved itself as one of the great classical centres of wealth and learning, the capital Sardis being likened to "The Paris of its day". According to legend, the Lydians invented currency, and produced the first standardised coinage systems which made it, and it's last King Croesus synonomous with great wealth.

Mod details

Leader-Croesus

Trait-"As Rich as Croesus"

"+3 gold and +3 golden age points from merchant specialists"

Unique unit-"Hippomachoi"

"Replaces the Horseman, +3 combat strength and gains golden age points from kills, but is slightly costlier to produce."

unique building-Electrum Refinery

"Mint replacement, yields +2 gold on gold and silver, but requires a river instead of those resources. Merchant specialist slot, and 1% gold in a city per river within the city's borders."

Strategy

By definition, Lydia is a gold producing Empire and so is most immediately suited towards patronising city states for a diplomatic victory. Gold is however a versatile resource, it can be used to fund wars of world domination, or invest in learning and science. To make the most of the unique building, cities should be placed next to rivers, which is generally a good idea regardless. Whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll become as rich as Croesus, one way or another!

i have this mod now long time,and it nothing shows in game,i think maybe that ist not for normal vanilla version..

It should be compatible with BNW, sometimes mods don't show up/download for whatever reason, I can add a download link (the old one is, as you can see, broken) for you

I really want to try this, but somehow the mod does not show up in my modlist at all. Perhaps i missed something; is it BNW compatible? Did i miss something obious? Would be delighted to hear from you. Kind regards,

I am thinking of nerfing the unique building, the Electrum Refinery by either adding a cap to the % gold it brings, or reducing the % gold per river tile.

How do people feel about this, does it need a nerf, or is it balanced as it is?
