e3_depot - Half-Life 2 Beta

e3_depot is one of the demos that was meant to be presented at e3 2002 but was cancelled due to the game not being shown and with Valve not being personally impressed with the trailer they revealed to the public. The demo takes place during the original storyline where Gordon Freeman roams the Wastelands to make his way to the Depot, a building which eventually become Nova Prospekt.

The objective is to reach the lighthouse and take down the Gunship that is antagonizing you. Weapons and Health packs are scattered around the map allowing players to take down the various Ant Lions and Combine Soldiers.

- Because the map wasn't intended to be played by regular gamers, the map is designed to follow a certain path all the way to the lighthouse. If you take the time to explore you will find a few visual glitches along the way in which the player isn't meant to see.

- The map is internally referred to as "e3_depot" for those who want to operate by console and it can be found in the "Others" section of the map select screen.
