"Wake up to find yourself trapped in Aperture. Find the exit and escape."

King is the first level of Midnight. It serves as an introductory level.

SECTIONS
Your crosshair disappears when the section title shows up. If by any chance your crosshair disappears before, during or after the level, press "~" to open the Developer Console and type "crosshair 1" to bring it back.

ACHIEVEMENTS
For you to get an achievement, the "Achievement Unlocked" text and the ding sound must be seen and heard. If you didn't see the text and hear the ding sound, chances are, you didn't get the achievement.

• Get Rekt : Find the hidden studio.
• Ivory's Irony : Discover the madrigal.

Midnight is a seven map mappack that revolves around Chell and an unknown character as GLaDOS puts her to testing. Each level have their own achievements and ends with a post-game report, that shows which achievements were obtained and the time taken to complete the map.

Q: How do I download this?
A: Press the green 'Subscribe' button with the plus sign beside it. It'll download to your Portal 2 workshop maps folder. After that, load Portal 2, go to 'Play Community Test Chambers', 'Play Single Player Chambers' and find 'Midnight : Part 1 - King'. Click it and click play.

Q: How long did you make this?
A: Around 20 days.

Q: How did you make this level?
A: Portal 2 Authoring Tools.

Q: Etymology of the level name?
A: Puzzle was inspired by josepezdj's Aftermath, who I call the "king of Portal maps". King from Years & Years played repeatedly while I was mapping this, contributing to the level name.

I aggre with FlimFlam. The offices where also very bland, which turned down the good design and puzzle of the chamber.

I didn't like the second achievement. I actually had to trigger the server cheats and look at your comments for tips to find that thing, it seems you need to know some sort of reference to get it. Personally that worked for me on achievement 1 since you don't need to actually get the reference to get the achievement, but since that is an requirement on achievement 2 a lot of people aren't gonna get that. imo it's poor design.

Visually it ended up being super awkward for me, with the etremely under-detailed, and almost non-cannon offices, that just flew into a very nicely made overgrown chamber.....It made no sense. To go with that, the puzzle was questionable.....

Hey Rector, nice map! The funnel puzzle got me good, but what took the most time was trying to find the achievements. "Get Rekt" was quite easy, but I needed a hint for "Ivory's Irony". Overall, it was pretty good, although I wasn't a big fan of the intro in regards to looks. Although this map is over a year old, so it's all good :)
