Methis' Vaanplein Interchange

Knooppunt Vaanplein used to a normal windmill interchange constructed in 1969, the only one of it's kind in the Netherlands, between the Rijksweg 29 en Rijksweg 15 just south of Rotterdam.

Everything changed when the "Betuwelijn" cargo rail line was constructed at the turn of the 21st century and room had to be made for the rail line and most of the interchange was rebuild.

Featuring elements from Windmill, Stack and Trumpet interchanges it's a hybrid mutant you won't find anywhere else!
