Zapon - Adventures in City Design

I've done a few experiments with city layouts and traffic flow, mainly the use of one-way roads and giant roundabouts.

My first design was the Wheel District - basically a giant double-roundabout with housing on the edges and shops in the middle. It works pretty well, but you can't really make it any smaller, it's not at all flexible, and it's a pain in the ass to build and expand.

My second design was the Park Circuit - a flattened roundabout design, built around a highway. It solves most of the problems of the first design, being very scalable - both to a very small- and very large size, flexible, and far easier to build and expand.

My last design, across the river, was New Zapon. A refinement of the second design, it's way larger, with a massive expansion ending in another roundabout curving over half the city (which has its own expansions). Apart from that, the main difference is the change to the road system; with a greater use of elevated roads, the use of bi-directional roads in low traffic areas, and several other additions to help with any traffic problems that appeared.

I hope this will at least be of some use to anyone having problems with designing their city. I sure learned a bit while building it.
