Haha same here, Parmesean! Most of the cacti we get here wouldn't be that large.

I'm having the same problem with only the shadow showing up.

I found out that if a cactus stands on spoilt ground (near industry) it disappears, because probably it has no texture/model for such an area.

@Ambler . . . that's odd, I'm not even sure what's causing it. Can you show me a picture of your options screen and try changing your Level of Detail settings and let me know if that makes a difference?

Bugs for me. Only shows up occassionally when placed but always casts a shadow. Dissapears completely when zoomed out. See this screenshot:
