The aim of this was to make one highway split into two without the obsessive lane changing you usually get. For instance if you simply branch off a highway at an angle from an existing one then 2 out of 3 lanes have to change if they want off - it becomes an absolute mess! The mess is generally made even worse by the AI's preference to change lane as early as it possible can...

This intersection however is designed carefully so that the AI agents will go through on the lane which leads to their destination without having to cut across lanes. Several tricks and pixel-perfect angles were used to ensure they don't all simply go the quickest route but the most efficient route!
