Classic Strike Craft and PD Gun Sounds

@xlynx: Yes it is unfortunately; the new sound for interceptors and such is similar but not the same as the original (I kind of like it, but it's debatable whether it's better or not), and PD, attack bomber and corvette sounds are still unchanged. Vaygr Lance Fighter sounds are apparently way off still I've been told, and it seems like the Assault Craft's gun sound is really quiet now from a quick test.

@Raum: The new sounds will only take effect if you activate the mod; playing without the mod will use the default sounds.

Hi There, Does this mod just outright replace the remastered sound files? i.e. not activating (or unsubscribing) from the mod still results in replaced sounds?

I much prefer the original sounds, but it would be nice to be able to toggle the mod, or at least know the full implications up-front. Thanks.

Is this still relevant after the first patch?

Awesome job with this mod, the old firing sound effects are way better than the new ones they put in. Hope this mod gets a lot more attention!

Great, I hated the new pew-pew sounds of the fighters but I was too lazy to look into it myself.

Now all ya need is to get the guns to not use the RNG system at all and its golden :)

@templerlord: I'm pretty sure that's how the Vaygr strike craft are supposed to sound. I can't get HW2 Classic to launch to check but at around 16:20 in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmd719TcyeU you can hear the Vaygr Assault Craft firing and it's not using the "brraap" sound the HW1 strike craft and HW2 Hiigaran strike craft do.
