The Athena class carrier is one of the oldest capital ships to date, and up until the recent deployment of the Titan class, was the largest ship ever built. Even after 80 years of honorable service, the Athena still has the largest inner-ship flight deck. It's cavernous bay is able to support multiple squadrons of fighters and bombers. Only the Angel Bomber cannot get into the Athena. The Athena is easily the most versitile ship in the Armada as well, able to carry any weapon system built after her induction, making it so we don't have to build a new ship for the Union everytime there's a new weapon system available. Since this ship is so old, it's still quite vunerable to light bombing. It's hull layout is also very old and redundant (entrance to the quarter deck is only accessable from the outside) although modifications were made by several fleets to counteract it.
