WHAT IS MONOCHROME?
Monochrome is a visual style, where everything is a single basic color. As you can see from the screenshots, everything spawned in via SFM, as well as the flat ground, are all a single color (it's a fog effect). These maps will let you essentially make 2 demensional animations, as the fog will not make distances from the camera apparent. Use these maps for artsy stuff, or that sick new intro you wanted to make, or any assortment of things you may want to make.

How do I make the skybox black?
create your camera, go to the animation set editor, add an existing element, add your camera, select your camera, select the motion editor, go to your camera sliders, and pull the "tonemapscale" slider all the way down. this will make your skybox black, but everything else will remain the single color

How do I disable the effect?
go to your console, and type
fog_override 1
then type
fog_enable 0
and the fog will be gone!
if tonemapscale is down, turn it back up to see the map

How do I make the skybox white?
Do the Black trick, but instead of turning tonemapscale down all the way, turn it up. For a crisper look, take the slider for bloomscale and pull it as left as possible, This will tone down the bloom and make it look much more crisp

How do I make the skybox a color other than black?
the only practical way to do this, would be to use an external program and apply a chroma key to the black, making it transparent. You can then use your video editor to add whatever you want into the black void

How would this be useful to me?
Cool visual effects, ability to make small models appear huge with said cool visual effects

Requirements?
None. These maps will work no matter what version of SFM you have
