I was looking for something like this because another mod was broken, but it turns out that keen changed the drills and the drills mods are broken. After some looking and testing, I found that you need to add
<CutOutRadius>x</CutOutRadius>
<CutOutOffset>y</CutOutOffset>
to the drill definition in order for it to drill properly. x is the same number as the other radius value and y is the same as the other offset value (I forget what they're called). I hope you get around to fixing it.

latest updates seem to have kiiled it. The Drills seem to be drilling 25% less not plus, anyone can confirm this would be nice. Handy little tweek tho, always been there in my playing mod list. Will miss it.

@Riffy If I understand your description correctly, it sounds like you're mining on a server that is experiencing update lag. With this mod, the 25% increase is most noticeable perpendicular to the direction of the drill, so each drill picks up more rocks to the side, but it also means you mine further ahead of the drill. This should speed up your drill speed somewhat, but it could also make "bouncing" from slow updates more dangerous, because you will go further each "bounce" and could hit the rock harder by accident.

Do they dig any faster? Lately when I make a big mining rig I used to be able to slowly but without stopping dig out the other side. I now find myself bouncing because the drills aren't going fast enough.
