UD2M1 Ziusudra

The UD2M1 Ziusudra is a Khertland target drone. It is a jet-propelled remote controlled aircraft designed for target practice. It does not have a landing gear to save weight, cost, and simplicity due to its disposable nature. Instead, it is intended to be dropped from an aircraft or launched from a catapult. The air force also intends to use these drones as decoys for saturation attacks in conjunction with cruise missile attacks or fixed-wing interdiction missions. To this end, the drones include a blip enhancement system for attracting enemy missile interceptors. Khertland air force doctrine is to randomly alternate strikes with Ziusudra and Interitus missile strikes. This is supposed to force the defender to expend their limited air defense missiles against the drones instead of the actual attack. Alternatively, the drones can pretend to be a strike package to divert enemy fighter interception, allowing the actual manned aircraft to penetrate the enemy air defenses. The drone is equipped with a simple sensor suite for observation and over 4 and a half hours of endurance. While simplistic, the camera allow mapping of terrain deep behind enemy lines even if cloud cover renders satellite imaging impossible.

It's completely useless. It is not survivable enough to even serve as a distraction. However, its speed and low cost, and flying ability means it can be used to capture tiles fairly easily while escaping interception. The low cost means even if it gets caught, it won't cost you much. While I have slower ground vehicles for tile capturing, they can't go over water, and might sturggle in mountains. The Ziusudra can fly over water, making it a more versatile alternative, albeit at a bit of a operational cost due to higher fuel consumption.
