NOTICES:
-Spawns at Large Oil Rig
-Infinite Electricity is a must-have
-She is a proper steamship, so it'll take her a minute or so to get underway
-Scuttle feature might not be 100% working since the space update, and she probably won't go entirely underwater, which I guess is fine since part of her hull was still above the surface for days.
-The last image in the slide-show of images is the OCEANIC in her outfitting. Atlantic was photographed in New Jersey in 1872 for Hardy Gillard's Educational Panorama, but this is lost media as far as I am aware.

**Thank you to Aqua for helping with the Traffic!**

SS Atlantic was an iron-hulled screw steamship launched on November 26th 1870 by Harland and Wolff at Belfast. She was the third steamship of the White Star Line after Ismay's purchase of the company (first being the 1870 Calcutta trade steamer Alexandre Lavalley, then followed in 1871 by the SS Oceanic)

The Atlantic commenced in her fitting out, and soon was joined by the SS Pacific in March at the basin (soon to be renamed to Baltic) before she was finally completed, ran sea trials and delivered to the White Star Line in June of 1871.

As built, the Oceanic and Atlantic only had 11 boilers (10 for the main engines, and another donkey boiler for deck machinery etc.) However, this was soon realised to be a mistake, thus the Baltic onwards were built with 13 boilers (12 for the engines, and again a donkey boiler). The Oceanic lost 3 of her 4 propeller blades in January of 1872, and went to Belfast in February to both be repaired, as well as have her captain's cabin relocated behind the saloon staircase on the top deck, and also to receive a large iron covering on the bow, known as a turtle-back (or whale-back).

Throughout the short career of the Atlantic, there were a few notable events, which I have chronologically listed below:

June 11th 1871 - Around midnight, the Atlantic steamed by her sister ship, Oceanic, while on her maiden crossing.
July 4th 1871 - William Wescott, a sailor aboard the Atlantic, severely burned his hands during a misfired rocket from the Independence Day celebrations, and was amputated upon arriving in Liverpool on the 11th.
September 17th 1871 - Steamed past her new sister ship, Baltic, who was on her maiden voyage at the time.
November 23rd 1871 - While approaching the landing stage, Atlantic collided with SS Alexandria resulting in very minor damages, though she did not suffer any delays.
November 30th 1871 - Departing on her next trip along with RMS City of Paris, the latter vessel steamed too close ahead of the Atlantic, and nearly caused the White Star Liner to run down the Inman Liner. Ismay wrote a letter to Inman about this.
January 3rd 1872 - While in Liverpool, James Creighton was charged for attempting to steal a crate of bacon which was discharged from the Atlantic. He was sentenced to 2 weeks of prison on the 6th.
March 4th 1872 - Confirmed upon arrival in Queenstown that the Inman Line's City of Washington was okay but had broken down and was under sail. This ship was believed to have been sunk due to being overdue by now.
March 13th 1872 - Two stowaways were found in her starboard bunkers at Queenstown and arrested. First voyage under Captain Perry. (Captain Gleadall commanded her prior)
April 7th 1872 - Steamed past the now abandoned and waterlogged barque Alma.
August 8th 1872 - Third engineer Ley was reported as having a violent fight with Fifth engineer Little, including grabbing him by the throat, and throwing him to the ground. Reported upon arrival by the Sixth engineer.
August 10th 1872 - Costume party held in the Grand Saloon of the Atlantic. Illustrated in Frank Leslie's newspaper.
September 11th 1872 - Labourer John Owens fell into one of Atlantic's holds during loading at Morpeth Dock in Liverpool. He died of his injuries.
September 12th 1872 - Selected to take 'the hunters' to New York to rebuilt the burnt city of Chicago.
October 2nd 1872 - While in New Jersey, a public inspection was held aboard the vessel, all found well.
October 5th 1872 - First voyage for the White Star Line to carry the United States Mails.
October 15th 1872 - While anchored in heavy fog with the Guion liner Wisconsin, the ships drifted into one another although both were undamaged.
November 20th 1872 - Patrick Jennings was charged for stabbing Atlantic's fireman Patrick Dargan.
November 30th 1872 - Rescued the 8 crew and the captain from the foundering American brigantine 'Scotland'.
December 1st 1872 - Charles T. Douglas, a steward, was swept overboard and lost.
December 13th 1872 - Michael Gibbon, a crew member of Atlantic, was charged for neglecting to board the ship.
Late December 1872 - Underwent a brief dry docking in Liverpool for inspection and cleaning. January 2nd sailing was cancelled and taken up by the Celtic instead.
February 13th 1873 - First voyage under Captain Williams, her third and final captain.
March 19th 1873 - 19 tons of coal offloaded by the steam barge 'Traffic' of White Star Line for trimming purposes
March 20th 1873 - departed Liverpool on final voyage.
March 21st 1873 - Final call at Queenstown.
April 1st 1873 - Wrecked off Mars Island at Halifax, with about 530 of 900 lost on board.

Atlantic's loss was a tragic blow to the White Star Line, and their worst until 1912. They also lost the Dunmail on August 9th the same year, which wrecked while departing the Mersey on her maiden voyage without loss of life, and the Victoria Tower, who also wrecked on her maiden voyage on October 16th 1869, though yet again without loss of life.

@HurricaneRocker yee a lot of these ships had a ton of pink (also based this off atlantic descriptions), though the saloon of the baltic was said to be green and white in the panelling unlike the oceanic and atlantic

you should build the Tsms Lakonia (formerly the ms johan van oldenbarnevelt); which sank on December 29th, 1963. a couple days before Christmas, she caught fire; and while under tow she sank.

@cheezblocks thank you! and yeah it's a bit of a shame that she sank without one, though i guess it does make her the most unique of the 6
