Class description
Construction ships are a unique asset. They are essential for building and maintaining fortresses, rigs and even ships themselves. Unlike combat repair vessels, they are ill suited for prolonged use on the front line, and require cargovessels to be on station should anything really expensive be built. Combat repair ships on the other hand, serve right behind the front line as mobile repair and auxillary vessels, doing maintanance work as well as local resource mining.

The ship
The Pioneer is built on the hull of the Surveyor class miner, sharing a large number of its traits. With a relatively low weight, its ill suited for heavy seas, but serves its purpose in calmer waters anyway. The Pioneer has for years been essential in upkeeping the Eagle Industries infrastructure, needed to produce the biggest of warships available.
