Gravity Drive Management System

描述
The #1 solution to your Gravity Drive control needs
According to 100% independent reviews not extracted under duress.

This script is an out-of-the box solution to controlling your ships' gravity-based propulsion systems. Simply build a gravity drive, load GDMS in a Programmable Block and you are done!

A Steam Guide to everything
Unsure how to set the script up for Your ship? Want to configure it to your liking? Interested in just what exactly GDMS has to offer? There is a complete guide to answer all your questions!

What even is a gravity drive?
A gravity drive is an alternative to thrusters providing much higher power without need for external placement or fuel supply. Awesome, right?

GDMS takes control inputs from your Cockpit (or Remote Control) and controls your gravity drive-equipped ship so that it behaves just like it would with thrusters.

Unsure how to build a gravity drive? Visit the associated Steam Guide (linked above) to learn more!

Script Features
We already know GDMS solves your everyday gravity drive control needs. But what exactly can you expect?

Simplicity
The installation process is as simple as can be. Load GDMS into your Programmable Block and press OK - and boom! Your drive comes to life without any hassle whatsoever.

Customizability
Does GDMS not behave the way you would hope? The Setup section at the start of the script allows you to fine-tune Your implementation of GDMS to your needs. Please consult the associated Steam Guide to find out what each setting does.

LCD Outputs
Want to see what GDMS is doing? Good news - the script can output information to any LCD, including multi-screen blocks.

Assuming you haven't customized your setup, any cockpit on your ship will get a configuration table in its Custom Data that lets you enable GDMS readouts on any of its screens. Further information in the associated Steam Guide.

Performance Friendliness
GDMS is designed to work on Multiplayer servers. There are multiple measures to make sure ships using it are not excessively performance intensive, one of which being automatic shutdown of the drive when idle. Aside from making the drive more performance friendly, this also avoids accidents around artificial gravity wells.

Read up on other ways GDMS stays considerate of server resources in the associated Steam Guide.

Spherical Gravity Generators
Using these in a gravity drive is more complicated than sticking to regular generators - but should you wish to do so, GDMS does support them! Each Spherical Gravity Generator the script uses is automatically assigned to the appropriate movement direction, so you can just place them down and not worry about it.

For information on how Spherical Gravity Generators can be integrated into a gravity drive, consult the associated Steam Guide.

Spherical Idle Shield
So you've gone with Spherical Gravity Generators in your design. You may have noticed their range is rather massive compared to regular generators - and this is where the "Idle Shield" comes in.

Suppose an enemy ship is trying to ram you while you're just sitting idle, oblivious to the imminent threat. What if your ship was protecting itself by pushing artificial gravity-affected objects away? Learn how to use the Spherical Idle shield in the associated Steam Guide.

This script was developed from prior (private) versions of GDMS, originally inspired by Zikka's Gravity Drive script edited by Relas.

This script was developed for the Alehouse Gaming Space Engineers community hosting free game servers for everyone to enjoy. Come hang out![discord.gg]

NOTE: Please do not re-publish this script. If you use GDMS on a publicly available Workshop ship design, it follows that the included credits in the script itself are to be left in place.
