TTW - Translate The World

描述
Overview:
TTW - Translate The World project aims to localize territories around the world for a country of your choosing. While the project currently aims to cover 99% of the world localization for major colonizers, it may be harder to do so in languages other than english. However, the goal stands.

What does this mod cover:
  • Just territories (smallest administrative part of the map) ...for now
What does NOT this mod cover:
  • Provinces (will get to it really soon)
  • Areas
  • Regions
  • Names of colonies
  • Flags
  • Mechanics
  • Other major colonial oversights
This is purely a localization mod, and I won't accept requests outside of this scope.

Big, Fat, Note:
Currently, due to the method of translation I use, which I will get to in a second, provinces around the world that are english speaking in today's world will have a native english localization. However, territories that are, or never were, english, may have their localization skewed. For example, if you conquer Turkey as England, some, or most, of the territories will be turkish. I still improve the translation process, so if you find any glaring issues please let me know.
Additionally, translation data is based on modern villages, town and cities, so there might be a case that a province is named after a location which did not even exist during the games timeframe. Once again - this is a process I will, and still do, improve.

Done:
[X] - English (99% world coverage)

To be added (in the following order):
[ ] - French
[ ] - Spanish
[ ] - Portuguese
I'll expand the list after I do those three lol

Technicalities:
Little bit of background: I first thought that translating the territories would be as simple as taking definition file, putting it into a simple script, translate everything and voila! My dreams of a quick fix were shattered as quick, and I moved onto plan B.
By taking the location map from the game files, I mapped RGB provinces to real world geodata. With that, I was able to crossover geolocated game data with real world data, by fine tuning my script and running countless and countless passes to clear the broken province names, like there being 5 Londons around London, while London was called Abbey Road lol.
The result is being able to translate 99% of the world, but at the cost of accuracy. Accuracy, which I hope I'll be able to fine tune with use of you, dear community. Any issues you raise, I'll be glad to change - I won't be able to fine tune over 25 thousand provinces by myself.

@Timur thanks for the suggestions, I will for sure get to Dutch after the current to do list is exhausted. I will also keep Italians in mind.

Dutch and Italian are important since they are colonizers usually, same with Scandanavia sometimes.
