Small Wing Men's Supermax and Death Row

This is a small SuperMax facility, total normal capacity of 90 (80 SuperMax, 4 Death Row, 6 protective custody). The prison is split into 2 halves, each of which houses 40 inmates in individual cells separated into 4 cell blocks of 10 inmates each. Each cell block shares a canteen, small common room, and laundry and cleaning cupboard (providing 4 jobs). Each 2 cell blocks share a yard. Each half of the prison has its own kitchen, solitary confinement, and amenities (mail, library, classroom, chapel, gymnasium, shop, psychology, infirmary, visitation, and parole.

Both halves of the prison also have holding cells with a capacity of 8 each (using bunkbeds). The left half has a 4-cell death row with execution facility and its own canteen and cleaning cupboard. The right half has a 6-cell protective custody suite with canteen and common room.

Security of the prison is partly centralised and partly decentralised. Each 2 wings has a small security room, from which the door controls and CCTV are operated, and from which the communal yard is supervised. The central security room has space for armed guard lockers and dog kennels, and has additional facilities. Phone taps are provided in rooms adjoining each visitation suite. The prison is surrounded by a double wall, patrolled by dog handlers.

The prison does reasonably well given the challenging nature of the inmates it deals with. Re-offending rate hovers around 30%. There are occasional deaths, mainly from guards shooting inmates (as FreeFire is turned on to reduce overall violence and staff injury). Gangs make up less than 1/4 of the inmates, and I have generally contained them to the left half south wings.
