Improved Art + Pre-Renaissance Artist Fix (ALPHA)

描述
A mod that significantly improves the naming variety of works of art.

Intro
As it stands, vanilla's naming system for works of art leaves much to be desired. The variety is very poor and scarcely reflects how works of art from the period were actually named - names like "Incoherent Meadow" and "Pathetic Titan" get old quite quickly. Therefore, this mod is an attempt to improve the flavor of the game in this regard: you should feel excited about what your artist is going to produce next.

The work of art naming system is also, unfortunately, pretty hardcoded and difficult to work with, but through some arcane methods of scripting, I've managed to work around most of its limitations. So, what does the mod do right now?

Features
Painting, Sculpture & Metalwork Naming
  • ~30 new "generic" titles, encompassing portraits, landscapes and genre paintings. Note that the actual diversity of the names you'll see is actually going to be MUCH higher, since all of these use dynamic sub-loc (i.e. names and adjectives)
  • ~350 Biblical titles
  • ~150 mythological and historical titles

Treatise Naming
  • Treatises are now specialized (to philosophy or a particular branch of science)
  • ~100s of potential dynamic names for philosophical treatises
  • A small but varied set of potential new names for scientific treatises
  • A specialized nameset for astronomical treatises

Evolution of Art Through Time
The subject matter and medium of paintings and sculpture will actually evolve over time. Early on, the overwhelming majority will be centered on religious subjects, but over time changes will happen - secular and mythological themes will become more and more dominant (the speed of this is actually affected by how humanist vs spiritualist the country is), canvas will become the main medium of painting, altarpieces will go out of style, fountains will become a more common output of sculptors, etc.

New Art Types
Painting has been split into canvas, murals (which are not capturable) and panel (i.e. altarpieces). Fountains have been added as a new type of art that can increasingly be produced by sculptors and architects in the later years of the game.

Smart Naming
Non-Christians won't get any of the Western-centric titles; statues won't use naming schemes that mention color, etc.

Pre-Renaissance Art Fix
Due to a bug that I personally suspect will not be fixed until the next EUV minor version early next year, artists are completely unable to produce art if in a country with no cultural investment/the Renaissance advance. To circumvent this, I've instead made this mechanic be enabled with the "Written Alphabet" advance that most countries start with, which should dramatically lessen the scope of the bug, if in a band-aid way.

Known Issues
  • Vanilla events (like the "Underground Art Circle") do not respect period-appropriate art naming/types, therefore you will probably see an unusual amount of secular canvas paintings and statues early in the game. This will be looked at for the next update.

FAQ
  • Why "Alpha"? - this mod does not yet cover all of the works of art in the game (which is planned), and plus it's very "hot off the presses" - bugs are to be expected until I get feedback. But any bugs you see are almost certainly not going to affect your game/derail your campaign, since...
  • Does this modify anything mechanically or balance-wise? - Nope, this is purely a flavor mod for the moment, and is very likely going to remain so. Though it does add some new works of art, this in and of itself doesn't change anything about the balance of the game, and the bulk of the meat of the mod is just localization changes.
  • Will this conflict with any other mods? - Only if they change or add new work of art types.

Thank you for your prompt feedback! Indeed, there was an oversight on my part. I've pushed a hotfix that should fix it. Luckily, the hotfix is savegame compatible, in that it should actually fix the artworks with a missing name as well as any new ones, so you do not need to revert to an earlier save :).

or maybe the game is getting confused as they were invited artists from other countries?

i think your recent update broke something as im getting generic localisation ID names like christian_mural _altarpiece etc!
