Play as the Caliph of Ifriqiya, Abu 'Amr 'Uthman; in Sid Meier's Civilization VI.

The Hafsid dynasty, of which Abu 'Amr 'Uthman descended from, was a prominent Berber dynasty upon the coastal Maghreb, a region under continuous Arabisation since the Mujahideen first passed the Nile. Arabs and Berbers coexisted for millennia with the only issues arriving in the form of sectarian domination (Ismailism, Almohadism, etc.), but a clear trend towards Arab leadership, especially through sharifs in Morocco and ashrafs in Libya, would dominate North Africa. Abu 'Amr 'Uthman's prosperous reign demonstrated how the Berbers were still politically savvy at court and at sea.

  • Trait - Caliphate of Ifriqiya: +1 Diplomatic Favour, as well as +3 Gold and Faith from each sent or received Delegation or Embassy to or from a civilization. +1 Trade Route capacity with Shipbuilding. Traders outside home territory and on a Coast, Lake, or Ocean tile produce +1 Diplomatic Favour per turn.
  • Agenda - Mediterranean Diplomacy: Likes civilizations that send Traders to his cities. Dislikes civilizations that do not send Traders to his cities.

  • Works with Tomatekh's Historical Religions (Sunni Islam).
