Norway Expanded

描述
Overview
This is an expansion to the content of Norway which includes:
  • 4 new unique laws (three of which are a part of a new law group, the Leidang)
  • Unique Naval Levy available to the Scandinavian culture group
  • 5 new advancements to put Norway on equal footing with Denmark and Sweden
  • 4 new privileges
  • 30+ unique historical events, including the discoveries of new RGO's, historical characters, events and an alt-history event-chain to get the Sudreim dynasty on the throne.
  • Unique fishing village building, to represent the Norwegian stock fish industry
  • Slight rebalance of the historical starting buildings, roads and population
  • History of Norwegian Royal line from Harald Fairhair to 1337, as well as the Sverreætten Dynasty's bloodline
  • Unique Estate and Province names
Much of the content (including rgo events, leidang law group, some privileges etc.) are available to other Scandinavian countries, when it is historically relevant.
Compatibility
The mod is designed to be compatible with practically everything.
Other
If anyone has any ideas on any further additions that can be made, I'll take them into considerations. Big bonus if the suggestions are based in history.

For more accurate Norwegian rivers (and European rivers, in general), I'd recommend using the European Rivers Expanded mod.

Included in the Chinese translation collection mod.

@kapteinbo Already in the mod! At least I think so, I haven't actually tested if it works lol. But there's roughly 20 historical norwegian dynasties added to the mod, and they should show up as random characters throughout the game.

Though a couple of those you mentioned I hadn't heard of, so I'll add those too

Love this mod! I dont know how to mod, but it would be cool if historical names for nobles appereared: Teiste, Smør, Rømer, Galtung, Byri, Rein and so on:)

@TexStarshine I did end up testing it myself, and I did find they were pretty overpowered. One thing I hadn't noticed about Scotland's levy ships is that they get very few of them because it's exclusively from norse-gael culture, so them being fairly powerful kinda made sense. Norway has no culture-restriction, so it can raise 60+ at game-start, which is way too much.

Number of Leidangskip you can now field has been reduced by roughly 60%, and their maritime presence has also been nerfed. The ships are mostly intended for early-game military defence and not economic benefits anyway, so in the future I might completely remove maritime-presence tbh.

scotland needs the stats this gives way less than norway does, but tbh if scotland has a ship like it I'd hold off on trying to balance it and focus on content. the starting stuff is fun, curious what advances you'll give them.

@TexStarshine Okay, so it seems like literally everyone has the leidangskip lol. It's not really incredibly urgent, since if everyone has it then it all evens out, so I'll push an update tomorrow

@TexStarshine Oh wait, you're talking about the ship (it's called leidangskip), not the law (the leidang). I'll look into it.

As for the balance of the ship, I'm fine with nerfing it. Though it's a bit of an odd one since it's largely copied from a similar levy ship that Scotland gets. Still, I don't really want the mod to be unbalanced, and I can definitely see the problem with maritime presence.

I saw this pre 1.0.10. if you have a place you want me to share my mod list I can. England notably had hundreds of levy ships so I could tell they had it.

Also, in terms of balance, the leidang should probably result in higher maintenance cost, as it basically solves the norwegian economy day 1 due to maritime presence. a hundred ships gives you high presence all the way to nidaros pretty quickly. On the one hand it helps solve the pain of the bug where taking land causes maritime presence to get wiped out as you can get 100% presence in a month or two with how many ships you have in 1450. on the other that's a bit much.

@TexStarshine Are you on 1.0.10? Paradox has apparently changed how some code works. It's definitely just supposed to be for Scandinavia

Is the use of leidang supposed to be limited to scandinavian countries? currently seeing england and scotland and some northern german countries use it
