Baiken

Baiken is a defensive character capable of slashing through the opponents offense. She has specials she can use directly after blocking an attack, making her a threat even on the back foot. With meter she can make life extremly difficult for the opponent by cursing them.

Baiken has specials moves she can use immediately after blocking an attack:

• neutral+attack:Sakura - Quick stun attack, usually the second best guard cancel if you react in time
  
  
• Side + Attack: Ouren - A leaping attack with some invulnerability during the active frames.
  
  
• Down + Attack: Mawarikomi - An invulnerable command dash to slip through the attack.
  
  
• Up + Attack: Zakuro - Anti air guard cancel that only hits airborne opponents but could be the most rewarding (lots of meter gain, knockdown, and combos depending on the opponent)
  
  
• Neutral+Special: Baku - The best(scariest) guard cancel, costs 25 tension. Invulnerable through the active frames, safe on block, and has special follow-ups you have 25 more tension:
  
  
  • Holding Attack after Baku hits will curse the opponent, disabling their run, roll and jump (not double jump) while they are flashing blue.
    
    
  • Holding Special after Baku hits will curse the opponent, causing them to take more hitstop and hitstun from Baiken's attacks while they are flashing yellow.
    
    
  • Holding Shield after Baku hits will curse the opponent, causing Baiken's attacks against them to be unblockable while they are flashing cyan.

Kicks up a tatami mat. the initial hit knocks away and later hits pop up. A good space control tool.

Command dash that negates attacks to her upper body. The guard cancel specials are available out of this move as well.

Baiken takes a defensive posture, then leaps forward in a spinning slash attack. If she is hit near the beginning she will attack immediately and deal more damage. Can also be angled down.

A fancy fan attack that hits all around Baiken, can be charged to go further.

Grappling chain that pulls opponents toward her. Slow but safe on block. Has an antiair follow up by pressing special again.

Baiken has a couple more uses for her Tension meter.

• Neutral Special+Shield 2: Triple Tatami - Quickly fire 3 tatami mats. Good for winning neutral and hitting opponents who are further away. Costs 25 Tension.
  Costs 25 Tension.
  
  
• Down+Shield 2 Grounded: Tsurane Sanzu Watashi - Baiken swings 3 times. Good damage and knockback. Costs 50 Tension.
