Luigi's Mansion Entities

Happy Halloween! This one took a while. And hopefully it does not get taken down: I have a deep fondness for this game from my childhood and I wanted to test my coding and porting abilities here.

This addon brings an array of items and collectables from the game Luigi's Mansion from the Nintendo Gamecube. These items use mostly original models, sounds, and textures from the original game. Effects are recreated as close as I could get them. I also added a pickup animation with the jingle from the original game when picking up special objects (only if your player model has the correct hand bones).



So which items did I add? Here is a list:

-Small heart: heals 10 hp.
-Big heart: heals 20 hp.
-Poison mushroom: shrinks player and drops their coins.
-Coin: worth 5,000G.
-Bill: worth 20,000G.
-Gold bar: worth 100,000G.
-Sapphire: worth 500,000G.
-Emerald: worth 800,000G.
-Ruby: worth 1,000,000G.
-Red diamond: worth 5,000G.
-Silver diamond: worth 2,000,000G.
-Gold diamond: 20,000,000G.
-Small pearl: worth 50,000G.
-Medium pearl: worth 100,000G.
-Big pearl: worth 1,000,000G.
-Small chest: drops random assortments of treasure.
-Large chest: drops random assortments of treasure.
-Key: used with lm_item_key command to unlock doors with a cutscene.
-Bomb: Blinks and explodes in a short time.




All treasure items add up to a count that can be checked with lm_check_money, and counts of each individual treasure can be checked with lm_check_treasures.

All commands start with lm_!

*This addon can be used in conjuction with my plain hands swep , which when installed together, allows you to knock on props with a chance of treasure popping out with effects from the original game. Note that only map-spawned props can be checked to work with the seed system (based on the seed, the same treasure will appear from the same prop even if the map is reloaded).

@Baboon13 It’s the sound effect from Luigi’s Mansion when picking up a coin… I said in description that I use sounds from the game.

I don’t do animating so no… if someone can animate a c_hands poltergust viewmodel and make a world model then I would definitely code it.
