Marne 1914

描述
The First Battle of the Marne (September 5–12, 1914) was the decisive battle of World War II, in which Anglo-French forces halted the German army's advance into Paris. The Allied victory thwarted Germany's "blitzkrieg" plan and led to a transition to trench warfare on the Western Front.
In September 1914, Parisian taxis were requisitioned to transport troops to the front. Around 1,300 vehicles were used to transport approximately 6,000 French soldiers to the Marne River to halt the German advance.
