You can disable this behavior by holding alt while giving orders.
Or if you don’t like it and want to disable it forever, you can set the option “When to Lock Multiple Formations” to “Never”.
When formation locking is enabled, you can move/rotate multiple formations while keeping their relative positions unchanged. This is useful when you want to move all your troops to a specific position in one click.
Something else I noticed was face direction commands were quite buggy. f3+1 works but any other face direction command seemed to have them face random directions including the other face enemy command that doesnt use f3. I only noticed this on mounts (hardly ever have I changed direction in foot battles) so that could be relevant. If user error what is the proper way to choose their facing direction reliably?
I tested with a formation with 1000 units with square formation, transfering 500 units to another empty formation. With no mods the game may freeze for about half second. With this mod it may freeze about 1 second.
When the size of formation is smaller, the difference is hard to tell.
