Welcome to the Iron Harvest + Expansion



This WW1 themed Space Engineers Scenario expands on the Iron Harvest + RTS Scenario.

Spawn in all your favorite factions as NPC factions that play on their own!



Bring them to the main scenario or spawn them here and watch the battles unfold!

Details:

In this scenario, you will be able to choose between 20 unique factions, each with their own units, airships, and preferred battle strategies. (Over 150 different units to choose from!)

You can choose between 7 different maps, each with a unique environment and fully destroyable props and buildings.



Watch as the NPCs research and build mechs using the built in resource-point-system.

The NPCs will capture Oil Pumps to increase resource production and make bigger mechs faster!

Watch them build and command armies against each other!

The last base left functioning wins!


How to Play:

Before you start, make sure you are in creative mode and have all the mods and DLC required (Or have someone that has the DLC.)

When you spawn, there will be some button panels where you can select a team. This will determine who will be your friends or enemies. Anyone in the same team will be friendly, while everyone else will be enemies. Everyone must join a team. DO NOT MAKE YOUR OWN FACTION. (Resource nodes will only give resources to people who are in a team, so anyone not in a team will be at a HUGE disadvantage.)

Select a faction from the faction selection machine at the end of the path (A base should spawn behind you.)



Copy and remove the base from the red block located in between the main building and the mech workshop. (If you do not have the required DLC, ask someone who has the DLC to do this for you)

Paste the base in the corner of one of the maps facing towards the middle. If you copied it correctly - it should be in the ground at the perfect height. (DO NOT move while pasting grids - the grid will move with you until it finishes spawning)



Transfer ownership of the base to either yourself or one of the other teams and make sure it is set to share with faction. (There is a group in the terminal that simplifies this process.)



Once everyone has done the steps above - The game can start. Press the button and watch the NPCs build.

If no unit spawns, that means that you did not transfer ownership correctly and your base is still owned by nobody. If you run out of points trying to start a match, just respawn a new base and try again.

NPCs might not always start building units right away. Sometimes they prefer to research first!

The NPC with the most Oil pumps will have a tactical advantage over their enemies.

To win, an NPC just needs to destroy the enemy bases. (If they do enough damage, their base will shut down and stop working.)


Bringing them to the main scenario:

If you want to play against the NPC AI in the main scenario with RTS mod enabled, just do the following:

blueprint the NPC base spawned from the faction selection machine (Preferably from the red block)

Leave the world and open the main RTS scenario

Paste the NPC base in a corner like any other base
Transfer ownership of the NPC to an enemy team

Press the button to start the NPC (It will begin producing resources and randomly selecting units to research or spawn.


Easter Eggs:

This scenario has the same secrets and easter eggs as the main scenario!

If you solve the secret puzzle, you can even unlock the bonus faction that is extra fun and season themed!

Troubleshooting/Known Issues:

Lag - This scenario is massive and not recommended for low end machines. Expect frame drops during heavy combat. Turn off shadows or lower graphics if needed.

Game freezes while trying to load the scenario - Just restart the game. This usually fixes it. There is a lot of stuff to load in, so lowering the graphics might also help. If the problem still continues, reinstalling the game might fix it (Only do this as a last resort)

Why do the infantry shoot explosives - One of the mods used in this scenario decided to be funny and make all 30mm guns shoot explosive flak instead of normal shots. This does not impact the scenario as the change is purely visual and the damage is exactly the same as it was before.

Units are getting stuck on buildings and terrain - You are FULLY allowed to remove any obstacles or cover holes on the maps as you see fit. You can even copy and paste extra oil pumps to make the NPCs spawn even bigger mechs faster and more often!


Suggestions/ Bugs:

If you find something that is not working as intended, feel free to leave a comment explaining the issue. I will get around to fixing it if needed.

If you think a unit needs a significant buff or nerf for its price, feel free to let me know. I will not be changing any of the unit’s weaponry, but could make changes to range, price, or other factors. (Skill issue is not a valid reason for changing the stats of mechs)

I will not be adding any new factions to the scenario, and I will also not be editing any of the mechs based on historical accuracy or opinion. I might add new mechs in a future update IF necessary for balancing. (I will not be adding any tanks or trucks for obvious reasons)

small patch - basically fixed 3 units that were not working as intended
