Korean Crisis

描述
A mission pack centered on escalating tensions between North and South Korea. This is a collection of my previous scenarios which have been updated and tweaked for the current game version.

Operation Eastern Vigil
East Coast of Korea, Sea of Japan, 5th December 1980
Amid heightened tensions, a North Korean infiltration attempt along the DMZ is intercepted by U.S. and ROK forces. Meanwhile in the Sea of Japan the DPRK escalates its naval activities, repeatedly violating ROK territorial waters. Intelligence reports indicate a potential threat to commercial shipping, and a joint USN/ROKN operation is devised to protect shipping lanes and ensure freedom of navigation.

Raid on Wonsan
East of Wonsan, North Korea, 10th December 1980
In the wake of North Korean attacks on merchant shipping a retaliatory strike is organized. A joint USN/ROKN task group will conduct a raid on DPRK vessels and facilities around the strategic port city of Wonsan, a critical base for the KPN's Eastern Fleet. The message must be clear - North Korean aggression will not be tolerated.

Action at Incheon
Southwest of Incheon, South Korea, 12th December 1980
Refusing to back down after the raid on Wonsan, the KPN has escalated aggressive maneuvers near Incheon in a direct challenge to the Northern Limit Line, issuing warnings of 'just resolute actions' if their claims are not recognized. Concerned about potential disruption to vital logistics and rising public discontent, the military government of South Korea has requested an intensified effort under Operation Eastern Vigil to ensure the security of shipping lanes around the busy port.

Sealift: Busan
East of Tsushima, Sea of Japan, 28th December 1980
Tensions have reached boiling point, troops are massing on both sides of the DMZ. An urgent logistical convoy, critical to U.S. and ROK operations, is nearing Busan. However, the final leg of the journey is the most dangerous as it enters the periphery of North Korea's operational range. While attacks so far south are unlikely, recent DPRK statements have declared any surge in U.S. 'imperialist aggressor' forces to be an escalation. Amidst the busy civilian maritime traffic, could a dangerous threat be lurking undetected?

Yes no helicopters is intended, they should have the Alouette III but it isn't in game and I'm not sure when exactly they got them anyway.

Only just started mission 3, but it's a refreshing change of pace.
Overall the missions are easy, but you need to be really mindful of your ammunition as you have very limited long and medium range options.
Are both the Japanese ships supposed to have no aircraft in their hangars? In the first three missions they don't have anything, only the USN units do.

Very good campaign. I really enjoy this smaller missions where you command a couple of ships instead of a huge CVBG. You really need to manage the scarce resources and think about the missiles. Also the unexpected and unspoilered enemies in the last mission came as a real surprise to me. Looking forward for more missions like this, especially when using newer vanilla units like PLAN, Japanese or Spanish Navy.

I would like to watch the author complete mission 2 lol. Other than that super awesome, I hope to see this continued!

It's supposed to be somewhat difficult, I agree it is a bit unrealistic but otherwise it would amount to seal clubbing with carrier wing and harpoon spam etc.
As a hint for the missile sites the SM-1 can also attack land targets, and setting air defense to hold fire can allow for guns to fire on selected targets and not incoming missiles which they have a very small chance of hitting anyway.

Mission 2 is weird way too hard, there's only perry as an effective AA while the missile site keep on spamming missiles until the perry runs out of ammo, then aircraft finishes the main ships off.
I think there should be more ships because it's kind of odd that they're attacking a port with only 4 destroyers.

I like the concept, but I have one question: where air cover?

other than that, pretty fun series of missions. I look forward to playing them again another time.
