Production - Dyed Cloth

描述
Overview
Adds a new game feature - cloth dying. Dye fabric in five new colors to sell or fashion into wearable winter and summer clothes, caps, and rugs.

Details
This mod adds a new late game production station Dye Vat, unlocked with the Chemistry I research. Settlers will add wool or linen cloth along with dye to produce new dyed fabric. Fabric can be sold to other settlements or merchants for an increased value or be fashioned into clothes, hats or rugs at the sewing station.

There are four new colors (historically inspired by) that can be dyed using normal dye created on the Chemistry bench:
  • Red (Madder & Woad)
  • Green (Woad & Weld)
  • Blue (Woad)
  • Yellow (Weld)

Purple (Tyrian), however requires a unique dye only sold by merchants or bought in settlements to mimic it's historical rarity. This also means purple fabric and clothing can be sold at a higher premium and have unique mood buffs to go along with them!

Red, yellow, green, and blue clothes give a +3 mood boost, while purple gives a +5. This will stack with the quality of the clothes as well. I'm not claiming any historical accuracy, but a mix of surface level googling and what looks good in game. If there are other colors you would like to see added to this mod please let me know!

Known Issues
  • Because the new cloth is classified as a fabric they can be used in regular rugs and packaged meals. However, if you do use them they will spawn normal products (wool rugs, normal packaged meal) - I have disabled them by default to avoid wasting items on non-recolored items.

  • If you are using my Unlocked Hats mod or any other mods that would use fabric as an input they will NOT be disabled by default and they will spawn nothing if color fabric is used
    • Unlocked Hats will be updated soon for compatibility, however items will not be colored as they cannot be changed

  • Similarly the Rough Wool Rug on the sewing table has forbidden all material except the new colored fabric. If you try to craft using other materials it will spawn the regular rug of the appropriate fabric type.

Until we are allowed to add our own custom categories this issue cannot be resolved.

Final Notes
While I have done a lot of play-testing I can't account for every situation. This mod is massive - the biggest coding project I have done for GM to date, and has a lot of files and moving parts. I very well could have missed something. Please let me know if you encounter problems or missed areas!

Special thanks to discord user Crambeu for the immense amount of help they provided in getting the icons to work. This would not have been possible at all without the patience and support they gave. Many thanks!

Unlocked Hats won't cause any crashes or anything, but if you accidentally let them use the colored cloth it will finish the production and nothing will spawn and your cloth will be gone. :steamfacepalm: Just make sure your queues for any of those items don't allow the new fabric and you are good to go. I'll have an update for it soon so that it will at least spit out a product, though I don't recommend wasting your new pretty cloth on hats that can't have color changes

It was like WoW!! someone finally did it... thats terrific moment. I was hooked the moment I saw this today.
One question, Do you recommend I disable your Unlock hats at this time, or just be aware of any problems or issues ?
Thanks again, for everything

@Tasslehofph - Thank you! I think the most wild thing about making this, is it was just a random thought of can we change the clothes colors? while I was working on all the building mods. And wow was that a rabbit hole of an idea :steamhappy: I am super pleased with the outcome though!

Let me be the first to congratulate you on what could be the finest most wished for feature in GM. Ever since I started this game I wished to have "Lincoln Green" caps for my Settlers. That Robin Hood vibe for all my outcasts and rebels who set out to start over away from Tyranny. Now for the first time you have given me this option. God bless you for all your hard work and patience in this fantastic project
