Tired of having that short and goofy-looking AIMR AK? Do you like the big ones? Then AKM is something you might be looking for!

This mod is a replacement for in-game AK47 weapons' models and icons. Standard, golden and neon variants got an unscuffed glory of full-length barrels and fixed wooden stocks, their gas ports got separated from front sights. The "Fire_Iron" and "Idle_Iron" animations have been slightly adjusted for proper aiming with the AK47.

This addon is client-sided so the only man who sees the changes is the one who installed it.

Installation:
1: Subscribe to the addon or manually download it from the link down below.
2: Get into KF1's root folder.
3: Make backups of following files: "KF_Weapons2_Trip.ukx" and "KF_Weapons3rd_Trip.ukx" from Animations folder, "KF_pickups_Trip.usx" from StaticMeshes folder and "KillingFloor2HUD.utx" from Textures folder.
4: Replace all the mentioned files with installed ones (with "_AKM" suffix).

I think you're trying to compile the package that was automatically opened up by SDK. You have to manually open the file you want to edit first and only then add your own changes into it. Otherwise the package won't have all the files it originally had after saving.

Because I remember making a grenade replacement and one of the mesh packages did not have all the meshes listed for some reason. After the compilation I hopped in KF-WestLondon to test my mod and all I saw was a map full of missing geometry. And, well, I didn't check the total size but I'm pretty sure it had a very little.

Talking about the issues, was it not letting you to join at all or were servers trying to replace your files?

I did manage to change ADS animations for SCAR, FAL and even your AK. All of them are less shaky when shooting now. (Thank you for the AK model, it looks preferable to the original)


But my issue is when I try to edit animations for a gun in KF_Weapons_Trip.ukx, and repackage the edited animations, the file size ends up being much smaller than the original, which leads to me not being able to join servers. It's strange, do you know why that is the case ?

Ok I just reinstalled kf1 and tried it again and it seems to work now.Thank you for replaying and helping :hideme:

@KH77, it should be that file, yeah. If that won't help then try removing something else as somebody did once.

Huh, did you rename them afterwards so they won't have "_AKM" at the end of the names? Honestly I can't say what could potentially go wrong there.

Yup I did follow the guide. I replaced all the files but it still doesn't change the ak. I dunno if I might be doing something wrong maybe?

Did you follow the installation guide? Seems like you just dropped the files inside and not replaced anything.

Doesn't wanna work I tried the manual download and subscribing to this but it doesn't change the ak model
