MOD Background:The tenth year of the Tenshō era, the sixth month. The plum rains had not yet ceased, and the mountains and fields of the Kinai region were shrouded in a dense, misty vapor.The Incident at Honnō-ji, ten days prior, had overturned the chessboard of the realm in an instant. The hegemon, who had been on the verge of unifying Japan, was at last consumed by a sea of flames, his great ambitions turned to dust. Ten days later, Hideyoshi’s army returned from the Chūgoku region, galloping forth like a black cloud pressing down on the city. Hoofbeats shattered the mud, armor reflected the gloomy, overcast light, and banners fluttered and snapped in the damp wind, as if heaven and earth themselves held their breath for the coming decisive battle.On the other side, the forces of Akechi Mitsuhide deployed their formation at Yamazaki. Mitsuhide stood alone at the vanguard. The Kikyōmon (balloon flower) crests in his camp, soaked by the rain, hung heavy upon their poles, no longer flying proud. His soldiers stood motionless with their spears, a silent anxiety permeating their ranks. On every rain-slicked face, a profound uncertainty about the future was etched. In the dim light, the figure of the Lord of Hyūga, Koretushi, appeared profoundly isolated. Right and wrong, success and failure, glory and infamy for a thousand ages—all would be decided by this single battle.

A Note from the Author: This mod is set on the eve of the Battle of Yamazaki between Hashiba Hideyoshi and Akechi Mitsuhide, following the Incident at Honnō-ji. Within the limitations of the game engine, it strives to recreate history as meticulously and faithfully as possible. However, due to the limitations of Shogun II’s aging engine, many ideas could not be realized. Production took a year and a half. Aside from some borrowed models and image assets, the vast majority of the content is original. It is not a crudely-made “Frankenstein’s monster” of a mod.

📋 Mod Introduction
【Playable Factions】
  • The MOD features a total of 26 playable factions, with 20 currently available (Ming Empire, Iberian Union, Ryūzōji, Takigawa, Ukita, and Kifu-Oda are not yet available).
  • Each clan has unique and new clan traits; traits are designed with 3 bonuses and 1 penalty (inspired by TW: Attila).
  • Each clan has an unique Fudai-Retainers Unit (not recruitable).
【Campaign Map】
  • As I do not have the capability to edit the campaign map, we are using the MOSS map with permission from Engineer Weierstrass. Total Castles: 184.
  • Based on extensive historical research, the names of all castles have been carefully examined and adjusted (taking into account abandoned castles and name changes).。
【Historical Characters】
  • Referencing the 1582 scenario from Nobunaga's Ambition: Taishi, a total of 430 historical figures have been selected to appear in this MOD (major retainers and well-known individuals).
  • Important figures appear as Generals, while some appear as ancillaries.
  • All Daimyō use portraits from Nobunaga's Ambition. Furthermore, all Daimyō and some pre-set starting agents can be reborn (Legendary characters).
  • Remake skill trees for Generals, Metsuke, Ninja, Geisha, Monks, and Missionaries.
【Technology System】
  • Technology system has been completely overhauled; the number of Arts has been increased, and their effects have been significantly modified.
  • Technology tree layout has been rearranged for a symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing visual effect.
  • Added 4 new script technology to enable/disable certain in-game system.
【Building System】
  • The building system has been completely overhauled. The concept of building chains is now emphasized; before constructing a building, you must first assign a chain to the building slot.
  • Ryoseikoku (province identifier) have been added to enhance historical immersion. The maximum construction size of castle and farmland fertility are determined by each province's kokudaka (rice yield) and population.
  • Province Income Adjustment Explanation: For example, Hitachi-Province has a kokudaka of 530,000 koku but only has 3 castles on the campaign map, while other provinces with a lower kokudaka also have 3 castles. This adjustment was made to address this discrepancy.
  • Added 14 new historical Landmark buildings.
【Unit System】
  • The unit system has been completely overhauled. total of 98 unit types are available for selection and army composition.
  • Compared to the vanilla game, the concept of clan-specific units has been removed and replaced with "Ryoseikoku Units(Province-Specific)".
  • A unit cap mechanic has been introduced; the larger your territory, the higher your unit caps.
  • [Unit balance still requires adjustment, and models still need improvement.]

I played your mod. I like the economy system with rice very much. Also your province and clan history texts, just great. The castles look just great, I only had some problems with troops placings and movements on some spots. Battles are fun.

The only problem I have so far is: I cannot build ships - in any kind of port I've build. The ships appear in the list, the queing shows the orders, but the building is not happening at all. Not a single ship.

I'm sorry, this mod has a lot of historical ambience and appeal, a unique take,I love it. But without ships/seatrade/seabattles its unplayable for me. Is this problem known? I have only your 3 parts and the English patch installed, made also an integrity check on Shogun but had no success, the problem persists.
Would appreciate if you could help. Domo arigato!
